PRO9 Regional Director PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN led the celebration of the 26th PNP Foundation Day and traditional flag raising ceremony held at the PRO9 Quadrangle, Camp Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zambonga City on February 13, 2017.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) was formed on January 29, 1991 from the merger of the Philippine Constabulary and the Integrated National Police pursuant to Republic Act 6975, or the Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990. It is under the umbrella of the Department of the Interior and Local Government having the mission to enforce the law, prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order, and ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community. By way of achieving the PNP’s vision and mission, the PNP is guided by its philosophy of service, honor and justice through the consistent demonstration of the PNP’s core values of being Maka-diyos, Makabayan, Makatao and Makakalikasan.

The activity was graced by retired PSSUPT JULMUNIER A JUBAIL, President, PNP Retirees Association Inc. PRO9 9 Chapter, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. In his remarkable speech, he challenged every police officer to serve and perform their job with integrity and dedication. They should serve the organization with all their heart because the sustenance that their families receive is coming from the organization they solemnly pledged to serve, he added.

The highlight of the activity was the giving of “Medalya ng Kasanayan“ awards to the PRO9 police units for being Top 1 performer during the Compliance Evaluation Process “Performance Governance System (PGS) held at Centro Latino, Paseo Del Mar, Zamboanga City on February 3, 2017.

The awardees were the 2nd Maneuvering Company (RPSB9) under PCINSP JOSEPH L ORTEGA, Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Public Safety Company under PSUPT MUAMMAR A MUKARAM, Mahayag MPS under PCINSP HOMER T DUMALAG, Liloy MPS under PCINSP JOSE F RIVERO III AND Zamboanga City Police Station 11 under PCINSP ALBERT STA. TERESA.

Another highlight of the activity was the Wreath-Laying of PNP Fallen Heroes. A ceremony that paid tribute to the brave Philippine Constabulary/ PNP Police Officers, among them was the late Gen. Eduardo Batalla and other police officers, who laid down their lives in the call of duty. The laudable deed of the PNP fallen heroes will always be commemorated not because that it has been a tradition but because of the inspiration they give to every police officer that continuously triggers the bravery and courage to grow in every police officer’s heart to serve with utmost sincerity and obedience in the call of duty and to give every individual the best they deserve.
