Cyber Security Advisory - Account Deactivation Hoax

A recent phishing attack on an official government e-mail coming from unknown sender using the alias @pnp.gov.ph <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; with the subject line "Urgent Action Require - Mail Error Code".

Accordingly, said attack falsely informs the targeted e-mail user that he/she requested for the deactivation of their email account and directs them to click a link <http://unowcanview.aacheter.org/> for the cancellation of deactivation request. There was also a message saying that if you do not cancel the request, your account will be permanently deactivated.

Recipients of this email are advised to "report as spam"  said message. The danger comes in when the targeted user clicks on the link contained in the email, which may lead to security breach that can further result in serious cybercrimes such as  identity and data theft, ransomware, hacking, extortion, among others.
