Cyber-Security Advisory - "New Sign-in from Mac"

An email detected as a phishing attack that attempts to draw the attention of recipients has been reported by the handlers of the GovMail. The email was sent by a purported Apple ID Support <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; and <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.; with the subject line "Re: [Summary Report Updated} Statement Review Alert: new sign-in From mac on 19 September 2017'.

Accordingly, the email will ask the targeted user to click the embedded link to confirm their identity before one can access their Apple ID. In doing so, the victim will be redirected to a phishing website and asked to enter their private information.

Those using electronic mail, especially for work-related activities, are advised to thoroughly validate the emails they receive to avoid possible computer security breach. Once a message having the same nature is received, it should be closed immediately and reported as a spam in their corresponding email program.
