Gutalac No. 2 Most Wanted Neutralized

Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte - The number 2 Most Wanted Person in Gutalac was killed during a manhunt operation carried out by Gutalac Police Station in Barangay Bagong at about 5:40 AM of May 16, 2015. Gutalac PNP identified the fatality as Oscar Sumoclod, resident of Sitio Baluran, Barangay Bagong Silang of said municipality.

Sumoclod has a pending warrant of arrest for murder docketed under Criminal Case Number I-3750 without bail bond recommended, issued by Judge Reuben O. Maraon of RTC9, Branch 24, Ipil, ZSB, and an arrest warrant for theft docketed under Criminal Case Number 3047-G issued by Judge Alejandro Canda of 6th MCTC, Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Arresting teams from the Gutalac Police Station were outside the house of the suspect when they ordered its occupants to get out. The suspect then got out of the house carrying his short firearm. The suspect fired at the operating team, prompting them to retaliate, hitting his feet, but he still managed to jump to a grassy cliff. The suspect then faced the arresting team and was about to fire at them, but he was shot on the different parts of his body which resulted in his death. Recovered from the scene was a defaced homemade cal .38 revolver with five rounds of ammunitions and one empty shell. The cadaver of suspect was carried by the arresting teams by foot for two hours towards Barangay Bagong Silang. He was then brought to Gutalac MPS for documentation and was turned-over to his immediately family. The recovered firearms and ammunition are now deposited at Gutalac Police Station for proper disposition
