Three unidentified armed men suddenly entered the residence of the victim and forcibly took her valuables, thereby, dragged her into the Honda CRV parked at the garage driven by one of the suspects and sped away towards the direction of Kabasalan.

Upon receipt of the report, Imelda Municipal Police Station alerted the nearby Municipal Police Stations regarding the incident to intercept the getaway vehicle of the suspects.

Personnel of Kabasalan Municipal Police Station were alerted and established a blockade along the highway in Barangay Canacan, Kabasalan.  At around 8:30 in the evening of same date, the getaway vehicle passed by the checkpoint and was flagged down, but they ignored the checkpoint. Thus, Police Inspector Alfonso bumped the rear portion of the suspects’ getaway vehicle, which made it turn upside-down.

The suspects hurriedly disembarked from the vehicle and escaped towards a forested area, while the victim was left at the vehicle.  She was secured and rescued by the police, while some elements of Kabasalan Municipal Police Station chased the fleeing suspects, wherein, a brief firefight ensued.

The victim was brought to Kabasalan Municipal Police Station and later turned-over to Imelda Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.  She was reunited with her parents after the necessary documentation and medical check-up.

The success of the operation is the result of the lateral coordination between all municipal police stations in the region.  Most of all, the courage displayed by Police Inspector Cedric Alfonso for bumping the suspects’ vehicle, notwithstanding the danger of his life and the damage incurred on his vehicle is very remarkable.
