Arrest of Human Trafficking Suspect, 2 Victims Rescued

Zamboanga City - Two victims of human trafficking were rescued in an operation conducted by members of Anti-Vice/SOG led by Police Senior Inspector Garry Bahoy together with Sea-Based Anti-Tafficking Task Force, Philippine Center on Transnational Crime-PAOCC, NISG-WM, DSWD-RO9, CSWD, FSSWM and WCPD ZCPO at about 6:30 PM on August 11, 2015.

The victims were from Negros Oriental and Misamis Oriental. The victims were brought to SBATTF and DOJ for questioning for the arrest of the suspect. At about 7:30 PM of same date, suspect identified as Jemelita Gallenero y Alicabo, 45, from Lusa Cagayan De Oro, was arrested at Atilano Pension House for violation of R.A.10364 known as Expanded Anti-Human Trafficking Act. Confiscated from her were assorted IDs, mobile phone, documents, notebook, and cash amounting to Php 125,792.00. Suspect is presently with the WCPD of ZCPS11 for further investigation.
