Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte - Intelligence operatives of Sindangan Municipal Police Station received an information from their Barangay Information Network at about 7:00AM on January 07, 2016, that a member of the New People`s Army (NPA) under Feliciano “A” command identified as Jan-Jan Lumulan y Mandawan a.k.a. “Tatog” / “Ka Jimmy” was planning to surrender to the government.

Said information was verified by said team in coordination with operating friendly forces and Kagawad Donillo Alinsa of Brgy. Bato, of this municipality during the negotiation process.  At about 11:00 AM on January 8, 2016, Kagawad Alinsa informed Sindangan MPS that Jan-Jan finally decided to surrender to the government and requested to be fetched at Sitio Paling-paling, Barangay Caluan, of same municipality, together with his mother Ludina.  At about 12:30PM on January 8, 2016, joint team of 11 MICO 1MIB, 1st Infantry Division, 21st Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, and Sindangan MPS proceeded to the abovementioned place and fetched the surrendering NPA member. Questioning made by the authorities on the said NPA member revealed that a previously confiscated homemade defaced caliber 38 revolver with five rounds of ammunition that was confiscated by Kagawad Donillo Alinsa on August 09, 2015 in Barangay Bato, was one of his issued firearm from the communist terrorist group. Subject is now at the custody of Sindangan MPS for further investigation.
