Intensified Campaign Against Kidnappers of Malaysian and Indonesian Sailors

Written by PSUPT ROGELIO C ALABATA, Chief RPIO9 on . Posted in News Release

A series of kidnappings of foreign nationals perpetrated by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) occurred in Southern Philippines on March 2016 wherein ten Indonesians and four Malaysian sailors were reportedly abducted in separate incidents. Fourteen of the recent captives are being held hostage by the Western Mindanao-based terror group along with four other foreign nationals.

The PRO9 leadership headed by PCSUPT MIGUEL C ANTONIO, JR. strongly condemns these kidnappings by the ASG as well as their callous disregard for peace and human life.

Additionally, the government unwaveringly intensified its operations against ASG and assures the public that it will persevere in its efforts in the pursuit of said terror group and for the release of the foreign captives.

The Philippine National Police is one with the Armed Forces of the Philippines in stating that the Philippine government does not negotiate with terrorists and will not abide by their demands for ransom.

Nevertheless, the PRO 9 leadership assures the general public that its personnel are continuously performing its mandate and serving its constituents with utmost dedication and commitment to its sworn duty of bringing these criminals to justice.
