Random Drug Testing of 428 Personnel

After the Flag Raising Ceremony in observance of the 118th Philippine Independence Day Celebration on June 12, 2016 at 8:30 in the morning, PSSUPT DEBOLD M SINAS, Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) together with the Directorial Staff spearheaded the conduct of random drug testing to 78 personnel who are undergoing Police Community Affairs and Development Course (PCADC) and Character Aptitude Development Enhancement Training (CADET) schooling at the Regional Special Training Unit 9.

The conduct of random drug testing was facilitated by the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 9 led by its Chief, PSUPT RODERICK C PAUSAL, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City. The drug testing yielded negative result.

Meanwhile on June 13, 2016 at 9 o’clock in the morning, another random drug testing was initiated by PSSUPT DEBOLD M SINAS, DRDO to 382 personnel undergoing schooling at RSTU 9. As a result, one PNCO was found positive of illegal drugs and will be subjected for confirmatory test.

As a matter of policy, once the result is confirmed, subject PNCO will be immediately relieved from his present assignment, his firearm will be recalled and he will be administratively charged.

PRO 9 leadership headed by PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN, Acting Regional Director has declared that the command will not tolerate any PNP personnel who are involved in illegal drugs or any illegal activities that will tarnish the image of the organization.

The ARD, PRO 9 also asked the public to support and trust the PNP by providing relevant and timely information on any form of illegal activities and report to the nearest police station or PNP Hotline: 0917-5062-000 and “i-Report Mo Kay TSIP” 0917-8475-757.
