Oplan Tokhang Makes 71 Drug Users and Pushers Surrender in Talusan, Manukan, Imelda and Naga

PNP personnel of Manukan Municipal Police Station implemented Oplan “Tokhang” in Brgy Libuton, Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte at about 9:00 AM on July 2, 2016, in coordination with Brgy. Chairman Fortunata D. Totao (BADAC Chairman), Brgy Kagawad Perpetua C. Yabres, and Arjie Cerna from the media sector. Said activity was conducted by visiting households with known drug personalities. 

As a result, four residents of aforementioned barangay voluntarily surrendered to Manukan MPS at about 11:30 AM of same date, and admitted that they are drug users. The said individuals, all residents of Brgy. Libuton of said town, do not have previous derogatory records in Manukan MPS. They were received by the above-mentioned police station. They also have undergone interview and custodial debriefing. They were also encouraged to report any drug pusher/user in their area. At about 2:00PM same date, the surrenderees were turned over to the BADAC Chairman.


Elements of Imelda Municipal Police Station and local government unit headed by Municipal Mayor Roselyn V Silva joined in the relentless campaign against illegal drugs thru the continuous conduct of awareness lectures by PINSP JOHN PETER N FALLAR, Imelda MPS OIC, regarding the effects of illegal drugs and its criminal consequences made through barangay visitations at about 1:00PM on July 2, 2016. This resulted in the voluntary surrender of the four drug users who are residents of Barangay Balugo, Imelda town. At about 4:00 PM of same date, eleven personalities involved in illegal drugs from Barangay Gandiangan coordinated with their Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council headed by Barangay Chairwoman Evelyn Delfin for their surrender to Imelda MPS. The abovementioned personalities voluntarily confessed to be drug users and underwent interview with operatives of Imelda MPS. Those who surrendered were turned-over to the Municipal LGU for counseling and rehabilitation. 


Ten drug pushers and ushers included in town drug watch list came and surrendered to Naga Municipal Police Station. Likewise, twenty-four self-confessed drug addicts surrendered to said MPS as a result of the vigorous campaign of Naga MPS against illegal drugs through the conduct of information operations, dialogue, pulong-pulong, visitation and the conduct of “Operation Tokhang” in collaboration with the barangay officials and village elders. Those who surrendered fully cooperated with Naga MPS. Said station conducted debriefing and lecture to the surrenderees and exhorted them to change their evil ways to which they promised they would.


Talusan Municipal Police Station personnel implemented the relentless campaign against illegal drugs thru the conduct of awareness lecture at about 1:00 PM on July 2, 2016. PSINSP RUSTOM B ROMINA, Talusan COP, lectured on the effects of illegal drugs and its consequences through barangay visitations. This resulted in the voluntary surrender of five residents of Brgy. Poblacion included in the drug watch list, and thirteen more drug users not included in said list. The personalities who surrendered voluntarily confessed to being drug users and underwent interview by the operatives of said police station. After which, they were turned-over to Municipal LGU for proper disposition.
