3 Suspects Dead in Kalawit and Lapuyan Drug Buy-Bust

Personnel of Lapuyan Municipal Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tininghalang, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur on August 12, 2016 at about 5:30 PM. The operation resulted in the death of Bryan Landiao y Nango, who was included in the drug watch list of Lapuyan MPS.

Suspect was a habal-habal driver residing in Brgy. Poblacion of said town. The victim died during the buy-bust operation when he fought it out using a caliber .38 revolver with the operatives who acted as poseur-buyer, as the arrest notice was declared. The victim sustained a gunshot wound on his head which resulted in his instantaneous death. Recovered from the crime scene were three sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, a cellphone, his revolver pistol with four live rounds of ammo, a mini-bolo, marked money, and a black Skygo motorcycle. The cadaver was turned-over by the local government unit of Lapuyan to the immediate family of the victim.


Joint elements of Kalawit MPS and Sindangan MPS conducted a drug buy-bust operation at Sitio Tubod, Barangay Poblacion, Kalawit, Zamboanga del Norte at 1:45 AM on August 12, 2016. The targets of the operation were Mark Louie Gumban Bacolod, no. 7 in the Kalawit MPS drug watchlist, and Ricardo Devila Sidlao Jr. a.k.a. “Dondon”, no. 2 in the same watchlist and also no. 3 in Sindangan MPS drug watchlist. During the said buy-bust operation, the police officer who acted as poseur buyer was shot by the suspects but was able to evade it and retaliated against the two suspects. The ensuing gunfight led to the death of the two drug suspects.
