PRO9 Condemns Davao City Bombing

The Police Regional Office 9 under the leadership of PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN condemns in strongest terms the recent bombing incident at the Roxas Night Market in Davao City that happened at about 10:20 PM on September 2, 2016.

The CPNP has already directed PCSUPT MANUEL GAERLAN, Regional Director of PRO11 to look into the incident and conduct an airtight and thorough investigation to determine the cause of explosion in close coordination with the AFP EOD units. 

PRO9 also extends its heartfelt sympathies to the families of those killed during the incident. All PNP units in the area are now placed in full alert status and checkpoint/chokepoints are now being conducted since last night.

PCSUPT BELTRAN directed all PPO, CPS and MPS to strengthen security in all police stations, detachment and camps, and put them on full alert. He also urged unit commanders to supervise the conduct of checkpoints and monitor deployment of visibility patrol in areas of convergence and vital installations. In addition, security measures in all seaports, airports, bus terminals and all public utility vehicle terminals and malls should be doubled.
