2 Wanted ASG Members Snagged in Sta. Barbara

Members of RSOG-9 conducted a manhunt operation against two members of Abu Sayyaf Group at the former Maritime Police Headquarters building in Barangay Sta Barbara, Zamboanga City at about 9:30 in the evening of October 7, 2016.

This resulted in the arrest of Abdul-Latip Talanghati y Suwaling a.k.a.  “Sihata”/”Tatang”, 64, and Albasrie Talanghati y Sata a.k.a. “Tagalog” / “Abu Tarik”, 27, both natives of Luuk, Tungkil, Sulu. The arrest came by virtue of arrest warrant docketed under Criminal Case Number (505-4) 122473-H for Kidnapping with Ransom and Serious Illegal Detention defined and Penalized under Article 267 of the RPC, as amended by RA 7659. Confiscated from the two were a demo block made of one pound of TNT High Explosive, a roll of commercial detonating cord, and two rolls of time fuse.  Members of ZCPSC, Technical Support Platoon, EODT also responded to the area for the recovery of the above listed explosive items. Said evidences were immediately brought to ZCPO, EODT for safekeeping and proper disposition.
