Drug Suspect Slain in Shootout with Cops in Talusan; 6 Others Netted

A high value target drug personality was killed after he fired upon the responding elements of Talusan MPS during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bualan, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 9:00 AM on October 12, 2016. Suspect Lincon Limpasan, listed in the Talusan drug link, was killed in the said operation. Investigation showed that Limpasan together with two unidentified companions came to the area where they usually conduct their illegal drug trade.  

A poseur buyer was utilized to deal with the suspect. Once the drug deal was consummated, the team rushed towards the subject area but they were immediately noticed by the suspects. Limpasan and his cohorts fired several times upon the responding team. A gun battle ensued which resulted in multiple gunshot wounds on Limpasan, while his two companions escaped. Recovered items from the suspect include a loaded US-made Marcas Registradas Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass caliber .38 and three spent empty shells, a hand grenade, marked money, twelve small and thirteen large sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia. The PNP team immediately brought the wounded suspect to Olutanga Hospital for medical attention but the attending physician declared the suspect dead on arrival.

Elements of Mahayag MPS conducted a buy-bust operation in Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 3:30 P.M. on October 12, 2016. This resulted in the arrest of one Jeboy Maglinte y Gloriano, 38, laborer, resident of Purok 2, Barangay Poblacion, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. Confiscated from him were four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, and the buy-bust money. Arrested suspect is temporarily detained at Mahayag MPS for proper disposition while a case for violation of R.A. 9165 is now being prepared for filing in court.

A drug suspect was nabbed in Sitio Mialim, Vitali, Zamboanga City at about 7:50 PM on October 12, 2016. Vitali Police Station identified the arrested man as Rowel Alejandro y Arichea a.k.a. “Weng”, 35, resident of said place. Confiscated from him were two small sachets of suspected shabu, shabu paraphernalia, and marked money. Suspect is presently detained at said station for filling appropriate charges in court.

Operatives of Sangali Police Station conducted a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Sangali, Zamboanga City at about 7:00 PM of October 12, 2016. The operation led to the arrest of Jessie James Rebollos y Ventoso, 37, resident of Sitio Licopon, Barangay Bunguiao. Initial investigation disclosed that a poseur buyer dealt with the suspect which led to his arrest. Confiscated from Rebollos were the illegal drugs and the marked money. Suspect is presently detained at said station pending the filing of appropriate charges in court while the buy bust-item was forwarded to RCLO9 for laboratory examination.

A drug suspect fell into the hands of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 during a drug buy-bust operation in Rizal Street, Zamboanga City at about 10:30 AM of October 12, 2016. Suspect was identified as Jun-Jun Hassan y Bakkal, 25, resident of Indanan, Sulu. Confiscated from him were three sachets containing suspected shabu with a street value of more or less Php 200,000.00, and marked money. Suspect is presently detained at the said police station while waiting for the filing of appropriate charges in court while confiscated items were brought to Regional Crime Laboratory Office 9 (RCLO 9) for further examination.

Two individuals were collared by operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 in Aurora Village, Guiwan, Zamboanga City at about 12:30 PM on October 12, 2016. The two drug suspects were identified as Fauzi Julhassan y Abubakar, 22, resident of Siasi, Sulu and Amran Juwak y Hussin, 37, resident of Pangutaran, Sulu. Confiscated from them were five sachets of suspected shabu and marked money. Suspects are presently detained at said police station while waiting for the filing of appropriate charges in court while confiscated items were brought to RCLO9 for laboratory examination.
