Illegally-Cut Coconut Trees Confiscated in Piñan

Operatives of Piñan MPS and officer Liwa Claire Alesna of the Philippine Coconut Authority stationed in Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte conducted an operation against illegal cutting of coconut trees in Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 7:15 AM on March 3, 2017.

The team recovered five fitches of coconut trees with an estimated volume of 1,500 board feet. The illegal loggers were nowhere to be found during the operation. Investigation disclosed that ninety-two coconut trees were already cut at the land owned by Carlo Jacinto, resident of Dapitan City. The recovered lumbers were turned-over to PCA for custody and proper disposition.
