2 Arrested in Tetuan Checkpoint for Gun Possession

Two individuals were arrested after a gun and ammo were found in their possession during a joint checkpoint operation conducted by Tetuan Police Station and Task Force Zamboanga at Paragas Drive, Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City at around 11:30 PM on June 11, 2017. The arrested person were identified as Benhar Yusop Omar, 35, and Kisar Sabaddin Saling, 29, both residents of said place.

Confiscated from them were a cal. 45 Taurus PT945 with serial number NCS93672 loaded with seven rounds of ammunition. Tetuan Police Station also apprehended four local residents, and two more from Basilan and Sulu. This came after a concerned citizen reported to said police station that some suspicious persons entered the aforementioned place bringing firearms. Accordingly, Kisar Saling threw his handgun at the back of his house. Upon checking the cellphone of the arrested person, the police team saw pictures of Saling and Omar wearing full battle gear uniform and each holding an M203 riffle. Some male persons at said residence were also subjected for investigation and profiling.
