Suspect in Faylona Murder Nabbed in Imus

The suspect in the brutal murder of a 23-year old woman in Zamboanga City was arrested by combined operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 7 led by PCINSP JOSEPH LAPUT ORTEGA, and Imus City Police Station led by PSUPT NORMAN TABALDO RAÑON in Block 4, Lot 6, Phase 1, Celina Plains Subdivision, Barangay Malagasang 1-B, Imus Cavite at about 9:05 PM of June 23, 2017.

The suspect was identified as Roselinni Arcillas y Lozada, 31, a resident of Zambowood, Zamboanga City and presently residing in Cavite province. This is by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder docketed under Criminal Case No. 35882 with no bail recommended issued by Presiding Judge Vera T. Vergara of RTC Branch 14, Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court Branch 14 dated June 15, 2017.

Arcillas is the primary suspect in the murder of Maria Clariz Fernandez Faylona, resident of Villa Rio Drive, Brgy. Pasonanca, who was found in an abandoned building owned by the Universidad de Zamboanga located in Lantawan of said barangay on April 9, 2017. The cadaver was discovered naked and in an advanced state of decomposition. The suspect is temporarily detained at Imus City Police Station while awaiting his delivery to proper court.
