Grade 8 Student Slain by Schoolmate in Josefina

Josefina MPS personnel responded to the reported recovery of the cadaver of Dave Nomer Tumatob Maniego, 13, a Grade 8 student of Dawa National High School in Brgy. Dawa, Josefina. The victim sustained a wound to his head believed to be hit by a hard object which resulted in his immediate death.

Investigation disclosed that the victim left his school at about 12:10 PM on June 7, 2017. His body was discovered at about 8:00 AM on June 8, 2017. A 12-year old Grade 7 student from same school was invited by Josefina MPS to shed light on said incident that led to the death of Dave. The 12-year old suspect was the last person seen with the victim before his disapperance. The suspect admitted to the WCPD PNCO and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer that he was the one who killed the victim. The suspect narrated that the incident transpired on July 7, 2017 at about 2:45 PM at the coconut drier near the barangay road where both he and the victim took shelter while waiting for the rain to stop. He hit the victim thrice using a round timber once to the victim’s forehead and twice to the face. Right after the incident, he dragged the victim from the coconut drier to the back of a gemilina tree approximately 105 feet away from the crime scene. Furthermore, the suspect revealed that he got angry with the victim because he kept on bullying him every time they see each other. This constant bullying made him harbor so much hatred on the victim and resulted in the killing.  The suspect is now in the custody of MSWDO for proper disposition.
