2 Wounded Suspected Rebels Intercepted in Leon Postigo

Combined elements of Leon Postigo MPS, Sindangan MPS, Zamboanga Del Norte PPO Intelligence Branch, and military counterparts intercepted two wounded patients from Barangay Tiogan, Leon B. Postigo, Zamboanga Del Norte at a checkpoint on July 18, 2017.  

The two wounded men were on board two ambulances of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and believed to be members of communist terrorist group that was involved in a previous encounter in Sitio Biwa, Brgy. Titik, Leon B. Postigo, and in Barangay Tinaplan, Sindangan, Zamboanga Del Norte on July 16, 2017. Accordingly, at about 4:30 PM of same date, as the operatives were conducting checkpoint at the junction road in Brgy. Tiogan, the convoy of ambulances approached them. The government troops flagged down the two vehicles and saw the two wounded patients identified as Joseph Delfin Aradillos, 28, a farmer from Tukuran, Zamboanga Del Sur, with gunshot wound to his back, and another named Jun-Jun Anta, 18, with gunshot wound below his chest. The two are believed to be members of the New People’s Army. The government operatives then escorted the two ambulances to a government hospital in Zamboanga Del Norte for the medication of the two wounded suspects.
