Arrest of Suspects at Stabbing Incidents in Mutia, Tampilisan

A hacking incident happened in Barangay Alvenda, Mutia, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 6:30 AM on August 1, 2017, wherein victim Juvel Recamara Conol, was stabbed and hacked by Rosario Lapinig Suan, 62, male, of said barangay. Initial investigation disclosed that the victim was driving a passenger bus travelling from Barangay Alvenda  towards Barangay Poblacion in Mutia.

When the driver reached the boundary of barangays Alvenda and Buenasuerte, the suspect stopped the bus, went onboard the vehicle, and hacked the victim on the left side of his nose and left hand, then stabbed his lower left abdomen. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital for medication. The suspect was immediately arrested by responding personnel of Mutia MPS and is now detained at said police station for proper disposition.


A stabbing incident transpired in Sitio Sawmill, Barangay Poblacion, Tampilisan, Zamboanga Del Norte at about 4:30 PM on August 1, 2017, wherein the victim identified as Jeffrey Langcato Fernandez, 23, resident of Barangay Poblacion, Tampilisan, was stabbed by Agustin Tulawa Fernandez, 58, resident of Gatas, Kalawit, and Robert Cabanilla Bentasal, 42, a local resident. Investigation disclosed that the two suspects were having a drinking session outside the house of the victim. When they were already drunk, a heated argument ensued between the two suspects and the victim, which was followed by Agustin punching the victim while Roberto got a broken bottle and used it to stab Fernandez. The victim was brought to a rural health center for treatment. The suspects were later arrested and detained by responding elements of Tampilisan MPS.
