Violent Drunk Man Shot When Responding Cops Were Attacked in Sta. Maria

A drunk man was shot on the leg when he tried to stab the responding PNP personnel in front of Pick and Go convenience store along Gov. Ramos Ave. Brgy. Sta. Maria, Zamboanga City at about 1:50 AM on August 7, 2017.

The attacker was identified as Arwin James Macrohon Galiposo, 25, resident of Divisoria, Zamboanga City. He sustained a gunshot wound to his left leg. Investigation disclosed that a concerned citizen requesting for police assistance from the PNP COMPAC located along said avenue, which concerned an unnamed person that was being choked in front of said convenience store. Two responding cops arrived in the area and saw Galiposo, who was under the influence of liquor, beating an unidentified person. One of the policemen tried to pacify the attacker but the latter tried to stab the police officer using a broken glass bottle, prompting him to shoot Galiposo. The wounded attacker is currently confined at Zamboanga City Medical Center.
