Fishing Ordinance Violators Intercepted in Tungawan

Personnel from MENRO Tungawan, BFAR, Philippine Army 6th Special Forces Battalion, and Tungawan MPS conducted sea patrol along the coast of Brgy. Looc Labuan, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

They apprehended a fishing boat owned by Rey Maglangit Recaña, with its crew members named Niño M. Amen, Jomar O. Egas, Denier M. Nasaga, Jemar Y. Caballero, John Bryan J. Valeros, and Rogelio M. Deuondo. They were held for violation of a municipal ordinance prohibiting the use of active gears in municipal waters, and ban on Muro Ami and other methods destructive to coral reefs and other habitats. The authorities impounded the fishing boat, three engines, three boxes of fish, and nine empty boxes. Said recovered items were turned-over to MENRO Tungawan for proper disposition.
