Man Arrested for Stabbing Bystander in Ayala

A stabbing incident transpired along the road in Zone 1, Brgy Ayala, Zamboanga City at about 10:15 PM of August 25, 2017, wherein the victim was identified as Mark Anthony Macansantos y Tatang, 27, residing of said place. The victim sustained stab wounds to the left side of his body.

He was rushed to a nearby lying-in clinic for first aid purposes and later transported to Zamboanga City Medical Center for further treatment. The suspect identified as Nilo Bucoy y Canencia a.k.a. “Goloy”, 34, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities after the incident. The weapon used was also turned-over by the sister of the suspect. Investigation disclosed that the victim was sitting with a friend along the highway in Zone 1 when he saw “Goloy” park his motorcycle along the road, which was accidentally side-swiped by a passing pedicab which led to an altercation. Mark tried to pacify them but he was instead threatened and stabbed by the suspect using a pair of scissors. Furthermore, the suspect is presently detained at ZCPS9 pending the filing of corresponding criminal case against him.
