Zamboanga City - Elements of Zamboanga City Police Office apprehended the following: Sala, Jul y Mohammad, 44, of Barangay Baluno, Zamboanga City; Minal Ameruddin y Julain, 26, of Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte; Ladjid Almobar Musa, 23, of Brgy. Talon-Talon; Lumunah Jerry y Muloc, 24, of Barangay Cawit and Amik Ahiyal y Abang, 42, of Barangay Nunes, Zamboanga City. Recovered from their possession were four bags containing MNLF shirts, assorted t-shirt and garments, one sling bag, six cellphones, one brown envelope containing roster of troops, bio-data, identification cards of said persons and other personal belongings. The above mentioned persons were apprehended along JS Alano St., Zamboanga City at about 7:50 AM on September 9, 2013.
At around 10:30 AM on September 9, 2013, members of Zamboanga City Public Safety Company brought to Zamboanga City Police Office Gaber Abbas y Baklayan, 46, of Bato-Bato, Indanan, Sulu; Nash Tarang y Muhajibin, 54, of Barangay Tulay, Jolo, Sulu; Samura Musa y Tunglayan, 41, of Sibuco, Zamboanga Del Norte; Armando Asinag, 50, of Tiange, Jolo Sulu; Nurin Ismael y George, 51, of Lantawan, Basilan; Mukim Jamahali y Ajibon, 49, of Tongkil, Sulu. The team were able to recover a caliber 45 pistol loaded with 9 rounds of ammunition and a caliber 45 Pistol Para Ordinance loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition and six sets of military uniforms with insignia of MNLF. Subject individuals were apprehended at Fish Pond Rio Hondo, Zamboanga City.
Initial investigation showed that Police Superintendent William Gadayan, Group Commander, Zamboanga City Public Safety Company received information that some suspicious persons clad in military uniform were seen at said place. A team was dispatched to said place, wherein they spotted the abovementioned persons along an alley. The team approached the said suspicious persons who introduced themselves as members of the MNLF, and further asked them if they were carrying any firearms. Two of them, identified as Nurin G Ismael and Mukim A Jamahali, admitted that they have firearms and were handed over to the responding unit. Confiscated firearms have no pertinent papers/documents. The suspects were then taken to ZCPO for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges in court.
