Cop Arrested in Pagadian City for Selling Illegal Drugs

Pagadian City - Operatives of Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force of Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office arrested a fellow policeman during a buy-bust operation conducted at the port area in Purok Bagong Silang, Sta. Lucia District in the morning of August 31, 2014. Arrested cop was identified as Police Officer 1 Julster Templa y Pede alias “Jojo”, 32. Templa is assigned at Margosatubig Municipal Police Station. Confiscated from him were three sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride locally known as shabu and marked money.

Earlier, subject Police Non-Commissioned Officer has been reported to be engaged in illegal drug activities, thus, a police surveillance has been launched against him.  Upon confirmation of the suspect’s nefarious acts, operatives set-up a buy-bust operation which resulted in his arrest.

Police Officer 1 Templa is detained at Pagadian City Police Station, while confiscated suspected illegal drugs were submitted to the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for qualitative and quantitative examinations. Investigators are preparing appropriate charges to be filed in court against the arrested policeman.

The PRO9 Command is continuously cleansing its rank and file by weeding-out bad eggs in the organization, especially those who are involved in illegal activities. The leadership of PRO9 does not tolerate the illegal activities of its personnel especially those who are in illegal drug trade and those hooked into drug use. The recent arrest of PO1 Templa delivers a strong message that Police Regional Police Office 9 is serious in its campaign.

Likewise, PRO9, in coordination with the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 9, has embarked in the conduct of random drug test in Zamboanga City Police Office on August 27, 2014. Said activity was spearheaded by Police Senior Superintendent Angelito A Casimiro, ZCPO City Director, participated by a total of fifty police personnel who underwent the said drug test whose results will be released soon.

Personnel found to be positive of using illegal drugs shall face administrative sanctions and will undergo the standard summary dismissal hearing procedure. This is aside from the criminal charges that may be filed against them.
