SALUG MUNICIPAL POLICE STATION INTERCEPTED ILLEGAL LOGS AND RATTAN SPLITS

Elements of Salug Municipal Police Station led by Police Inspector Jaime Marfil Tanola, Officer-In-Charge while conducting check point operation at Barangay Liguac, Salug, Zamboanga del Norte in order  to thwart the illegal activities of the  illegal loggers Saturday morning, they have intercepted an Isuzu Truck with licensed plate JAR 609 driven by Joseph Teope Tuanda, 51 years old, married and a resident of Barangay Maras, Sindangan Zamboanga del Norte which is owned by Ricky Teope Tuanda and a resident of Barangay Sianan, Godod, Zamboanga del Norte. The said truck with Adriano Balladares Badenas, 48 years old, married, a resident of Barangay Sianan, Godod,   and the designated truck man on board was loaded with illegal cut logs, fleches and rattan split.  There were seventy (70) pieces of fletches of different dimensions, five (5) logs of round timber and five (5) bundles of rattan split.  Driver failed to present proper documents to transport the said forest products, hence, the trucks and its cargoes were confiscated.   Report received from Provincial Director, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office disclosed that prior to the interception of the said truck, there were reports from Barangay Intelligence Networks that trucks are passing along the said highway loaded with illegal forest products. Thereby, check points were put up in the area which, resulted to the interception of the said Isuzu truck.
