Explosives Recovered in Maasin and Tugbungan

Zamboanga City – Two hand grenades were discovered by Mohammad Pasang at the residential lot of certain “Morgan” in Caragasan, Barangay Maasin at about 9:00 AM on December 19, 2014.

The recovered grenades were determined to be a M-33 and an MK-2 type. Sinunuc Police Station 8 Alert Team and Zamboanga City Public Safety Company Bomb Squad, safely retrieved the hand grenades and placed it under the custody of EOD for safekeeping. Investigation is ongoing to identify the owner of said explosives.

Zamboanga City - The ZCPO Bomb Squad/Explosive Incident Reaction Team led by SPO3 Kennedy Damsid, recovered an unexploded ordnances at the vicinity of Barangay Tugbungan at about 8:30 AM on December 16, 2014. One of the recovered ordnance is a rifle grenade. Another UXO was recovered by the same operating unit at the vicinity of Barangay Sta. Catalina particularly near KGK Building at about 5:35 PM of same date. The recovered item was an 81-mm mortar. Recovered items were brought to Bomb Squad/EIRT office for proper disposition.
