Guidelines on Issuance of Awards/Commendations for PNP Personnel Involved in Disaster Rescue Operations and Other Similar Activities

The PNP, as an active member agency of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) has gained momentum in the area of disaster risk reduction. Prohibition of Smoking, Gambling, Drinking and Immoral Acts In PNP Camps, Offices and Stations

As a way of reassuring the public that PNP personnel in their respective areas have moral ascendancy and are not engaged in illegal and immoral activities and vices, all PNP units are directed to refrain from doing the said prohibited acts. Any personnel who will be caught violating this directive shall be dealt with accordingly.

Further, PNP PRO9 units are ordered to post in their respective offices the signage, “THIS CAMP/OFFICE/STATION IS A NON-SMOKING, NO GAMBLING, NO DRINKING AND NO IMMORAL ACTS AREA”.

PNP Initiatives in the Conduct of Internal Security Operations

The burden of responsibility of internal security operations would soon be the responsibility of the PNP. With the declaration of HEPBSAIII of an “all-out-justice” in Western Mindanao and the subsequent shift in strategy from security operations to law enforcement has put the PNP in the lead in addressing the various threats affecting the prevailing peace and security in Western Mindanao, with the support of AFP and the active involvement of the LGUs.

Sustained and Inten­sified Campaign Against Wanted Persons

The C, PNP issued a directive for all police units to initiate a sustained and intensified campaign against wanted persons.  This is one of the police operational focus and priority concerns in relation to the 10 Point Action Plan which he laid down during his assumption as Chief PNP.  This specific Action Plan is basi­cally premised on his belief that one criminal off the street accords citizens with a sound sleep.

In line with this, the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management (DIDM) issued initial guidelines in the conduct of the said sustained and intensified campaign against wanted persons, with performance targets to accomplish.  Initially, an accounting of all wanted persons was conducted, if only to deter­mine how many wanted persons are supposed to be accounted.
