A shootout transpired along Don Toribio St., Barangay Tetuan, Zamboanga City at 1:20 AM of September 15, 2022. PNP personnel of Zamboanga City Polce Station 6 responded and were able to arrest two (2) male suspects identified as Mohammad Hassan Sapie, 40 years old, male and a resident of Brgy. Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City, and Al-jiden Dadjilul Usama, 30 years old, male, and a resident of Don Toribio St. Brgy. Tetuan Zamboanga City. Investigation revealed that prior to the incident, SDET members of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 together with team leader PSSg Redante B. Cortes were conducting an initial briefing in relation to their on-going campaign against illegal drugs within a vacant lot, fronting St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, located along Barua St., Brgy. Tetuan, Zamboanga City a group of riders passed by and one of them, a male person, was seen brandishing his firearms tucked on his left waist, immediately SDET personnel followed the said riders. However, upon reaching the place of incident, suspect Mohammad Hassan Sapie without any provocation opened fire towards the SDET team, thus the team retaliated. As a result, the suspects sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of their bodies and tried to escape. Further, one of the suspects Mohammad Hassan Sapie was arrested during the pursuit, the other suspect Al-jiden Dadjilul Usama was arrested at West Metro Medical Center upon receipt of the call from the staff of the said hospital, while another unidentified suspect (driver) managed to elude the arrest. SOCO processed the scene and recovered two (2) units caliber 45 pistol, one (1) magazine loaded with six (6) live ammunitions, and one (1) magazine loaded with four (4) ammunition of the same caliber, three (3) ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, two (2) 9mm fired cartridges, and one (1) Suzuki single motorcycle rider150.
