Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City - The Police Regional Office 9 under the leadership of Police Brigadier General Froilan F Quidilla launched a project initiative dubbed as “Amor Para Con el Mga Siembrador” aimed at helping the local farmers in the region who are affected by the ongoing Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The Regional Director said that under the project, the vegetable products of local farmers will be bought directly by PRO9 from their respective barangays in the region as they could not transport and sell their vegetables products to the markets due to the ECQ where transportation is limited. The purchased products will then be distributed along with the food packs to the beneficiaries of PRO9 Adopt a Family Program - Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko.

As an opening salvo of the project, PRO9 in coordination with the Zamboanga City Police Station 4 purchased various farm products of local farmers in Barangay Guisao. Among the agricultural products are string beans, cucumber, squash and baguio beans. These products were immediately distributed along with food packs to the indigent families in Barangay Divisoria.

This is considered as one of the best practices that PRO9 initiated in reaching out to the local farmers to support them in finding means to earn amidst the current pandemic.
