Police Regional Office 9 covers the entire Zamboanga Peninsula region to include Isabela City which is actually part of the island-province of Basilan, and is that province’s capital. The region consists of the three (3) provinces, namely, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay. It has five (5) cities: Zamboanga, Pagadian, Dipolog and Dapitan.
PRO9 is stationed at Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City, where the Directorial Offices are located. Camp Gen. Eduardo A. Batalla, another PRO9 camp is situated in JRT Lim Blvd, Zamboanga City, houses the bulk of the National Support Units.

BRIEF HISTORY OF 9RPSB
In 1981, the striking force called a Special Action Company (SAC) was established in Region 9 with CAPT GALAHAD TIMBASAL as Company Commander. SAC was then utilized not only as striking force but also as a response to the wake of lawless elements in the region as well. Their primary mission is to plan and conduct special operation anywhere in the region, especially matters pertaining to counter-insurgency, counter-subversion, non-conventional warfare, anti-terrorism and other related operations.
