Police Chief Superintendent Edgar O Basbas, PRO9 Acting Regional Director administered the oath-taking of the twenty-six newly hired Non-Uniformed Personnel on July 28, 2015. The oath taking was witnessed by members of the Command Group, Police Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Non-Uniformed Personnel of Police Regional Office 9, which was held at the PRO 9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015.
Of the newly-hired NUPs, ten are appointed as Administrative Assistant III with Salary Grade 9, and sixteen are appointed as Administrative Assistant I with Salary Grade 7. They will be assigned in the three Police Provincial Offices. Eleven NUPs will be assigned in Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office, ten will be assigned in Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office and five will be placed in Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office. They will be designated as Crime Registrars and Recorders of the different stations.
Presently, the newly appointed NUPs are undergoing Orientation Course at the PRO 9 Headquarters in Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan for a period of two weeks.
The newly appointed NUPs are part of the quota intended for Police Regional Office 9. The Command is continuously hiring more NUP to fill-up the 364 allotted quota. Relatively, the PNP is still hiring a total of 7,000 Non-Uniformed Personnel nationwide.
In line with the directives of Police Director General Ricardo Marquez, the new Chief, Philippine National Police, more PNP personnel will be deployed on the streets to conduct patrol and police visibility, while the NUP will perform the administrative work in the offices and stations, thus, the hiring of more of NUP will continue.
The PRO 9 Acting Regional Director extends his congratulation to the newly hired Non-Uniformed Personnel as members of the Philippine National Police organization and PRO 9 in particular. They are urged to give their best to the organization while performing duties especially in recording the crime incidents in their respective assignments and never allow themselves to get involved in any illegal activities which that could tarnish the good image of the organization.
