PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN, PRO9 Regional Director led the awarding of PRO9 GANDAPULIS 2017 candidates and giving of cash gift for beneficiaries of PNP personnel Killed in Police Operation (KIPO) / Killed-in-Action (KIA) during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held at the PRO9 Quadrangle, Camp Col. Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on April 3, 2017.
The GANDAPULIS 2017 candidates who represented PRO9 during the competition held in Camp Crame, Quezon City are PO1 Leizel L Abejero, PNP member assigned at Regional Public Safety Battalion 9, who bagged the 1st runner-up of GANDAPULIS 2017 and Placenta Award for Best Skin, PO2 Alma Ruby I Santos, PNP member assigned at Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, adjudged as Best in Gown during the coronation night, PO1 Ma. Riffy R Cerezo, PNP member assigned at Zamboanga Del Norte Police Provincial Office. On the other hand, the other candidates, PO1 Grechelle G Climaco and PO1 Sarah Jean G Fajardo, assigned at RPSB9 and ZCPO respectively, were also given recognition.
PO1 Arla Ray Paciencia of Police Regional Office 8 was hailed as the Ganda Pulis 2017 grand winner during the coronation night on March 28, 2017 at the Multi-Purpose Hall in Camp Crame, Quezon City. PRO 9 candidate, PO1 Leizel L Abejero bagged the 1st runner-up, followed by PRO 3 candidate PO1 Bernie Jane L Dela Cruz as the 2nd runner-up and PRO 11 candidate PO1 Nova Em N Lago as the 3rd runner-up.
The PNP Ganda Pulis 2017 is a project of the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) headed by PCSUPT Gilbert Cruz in support to the National Women's Month Celebration. It is a week-long search for the country's most confidently beautiful policewomen with the participants coming from the different Police Regional Offices, NSUs and the five districts of the National Capital Region Police Office.
PCSUPT BELTRAN, in his message during the ceremony, congratulated the candidates of GANDAPULIS 2017 especially PO1 Leizel L Abejero who got the second highest award during the prestigious competition, for giving pride and honor to PRO9.
During the same activity, RD PRO9 thanked the spouses of the fallen policemen - Mrs. Decelyn DT Jupia, wife of the late PO2 Arman V Jupia, Mrs. Gloria G Castro, mother of the late PO1 Michael Jay G Castro, Mrs. Juhura B Lakim, wife of the late PO2 Arilon L Lakim and Mrs. Lea L Sedrome, wife of the late PO3 Felomino S Sedrome, for their untiring support to their late husband.
The four PNCOs, PO3 Sedrome, PO2 Jupia, PO2 Lakim and PO1 Castro, were killed during a legitimate police operation in the implementation of Project Double Barrel Alpha in 2016.
