Police Regional Office 9 held a kick-off ceremony for the observance of 22nd Police Community Relations Month with the theme “Police and Community: Sharing Responsibilities, Taking Action in Unity” during the Monday Morning Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Police Regional Office 9 Headquarters in Camp Abendan, Zamboanga City on July 3, 2017.
The simple ceremony was led by Police Chief Superintendent BILLY B BELTRAN, PRO9 Regional Director, with Atty. Pablito M Abad, Acting Regional Director, NAPOLCOM IX as guest of honor and speaker. The observance of PCR Month is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 764 declaring July of every year as PCR Month, with the NAPOLCOM as the lead agency and the PNP as the implementing agency.
in his message during the program, the guest of honor and speaker stressed that PNP is considered as both client and partner in serving the community. He emphasized the importance of harmony in its entirety, which means that whatever rank a person has, the difference does not make him a lesser or greater part of the PNP organization. Atty. Abad also reminded all RHQ personnel to know more about their self and the reason for their existence in order to contribute to the general welfare of the community or simply adapt it is a manner of individual philosophy in life.
Several activities have been lined up for this year’s observance of PCR Month. Community participation is the target of these activities which involve crime prevention and the elimination of the illegal drugs. In the culmination ceremony set on July 31, 2015, PRO 9 will be giving awards and commendations to PNP personnel in recognition of their valuable contributions to the community.
