DPCR Cascade Activities to PRO9 in Relation to ELCAC and PCVE Activities

Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City – The Directorate for Police Community Relation from the PNP headquarters roll out a cascading of program activities to Police Regional Office 9 in relation with the ELCAC and Preventing Countering Violent Extremism on February 10, 2021.

PBGEN Ronaldo Genaro E Ylagan, PRO9 Regional Director said the one-day activity aimed at orienting the different PCR officers in all Provincial/City police offices on the activities that they set to conduct in their respective area of responsibility in support to the ELCAC and PCVE program of the PNP.

The one-day activity was held at PRO9 Lounge, Camp Col. Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City with PCOL Madzgani M Mukaram, Chief of Salaam Police Center, DPCR as the resource speaker and attended by the different PCR officers and Salaam Police personnel across the region.

PBGEN Ylagan commended the DPCR team headed by PCOL Mukaram for coming up with this kind of activity as it would strengthened the PCR efforts of the PNP specially those who are in the area where the threat from the terrorists and extremism exists.

He further stressed that the role of Salaam Police is to engage Muslim religious leaders and elders to take care of their youths from being victims of recruitment by extremists whose teaching are twisted from the real religious teachings. PCOL Mukaram also dissiminated various PNP programs involving youth, industrial workers, students and other sectors of the society. (PRO9-PIO)
