A total of 280 rookie cops recruited as regular members of the Philippine National Police Organization as public safety officers took their oath on August 3, 2015, which was witnessed by their proud parents and love ones. The simple ceremony was held at the parade ground of the Police Office 9 Regional Headquarters during the traditional Monday Morning Flag Raising Ceremony.
Personnel of Police Regional Office 9 are not only expert in the field of the law enforcement, but are also proficient in other fields, especially in academic aspect which serve as their passageway in their entry to the police service.
Police Chief Superintendent Edgar O Basbas, PRO9 Acting Regional Director administered the oath-taking of the twenty-six newly hired Non-Uniformed Personnel on July 28, 2015. The oath taking was witnessed by members of the Command Group, Police Commissioned Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Non-Uniformed Personnel of Police Regional Office 9, which was held at the PRO 9 Multi-Purpose Hall, Camp Col. Romeo A. Abendan, Mercedes, Zamboanga City on Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015.
Police Regional Office 9 joins the entire nation in the celebration of 117th Philippine Independence Day. In the morning of June 12, 2015, the flag raising ceremony was simultaneously conducted by all PNP units in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula.
More or less 800 PNP personnel based in Zamboanga City participated in the Zamboanga City “5K Peace and Freedom Run” held on May 24, 2015 at the Climaco Freedom Park, Abong-Abong, Barangay Pasonanca, Zamboanga City.
