Phishing Alert - "You are A Victim"

A phishing attack sent thru e-mail which came from IP <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with subject line “You are my victim” is ciruclating in the web. The message informs the recipient that a trojan was embedded in a pornographic website supposedly visited by the recipient. This virus allegedly turns on the web cam of the recipient’s computer and records a compromising video. The recipient is being threatened by the sender that said recorded scandalous video of the recipient will be sent to all his/her contact list unless 400 Euro in Bitcoin currency is sent to the hyperlink shown in the e-mail.

The public is advised to verify all incoming e-mails for their authenticity, especially if it comes from a known source. E-mail users are further advised not to click on any hyperlink enclosed in the e-mail and immediately delete said message. This precautionary measure should be made to avoid becoming a victim of a scam which can result in identity theft, computer sabotage and hacking, and ransomware which hostages all the files of one’s computer, all of which leads to financial and data loss.
