Wanning Abdusalam Neutralized in Law Enforcement Operation

Zamboanga Sibugay - Combined personnel of Regional Intelligence Unit 9, PNP-Intelligence Group, Philippine Center on Transnational Crime ā€“ Western Mindanao Field Office / PAOCC, Regional Intelligence Division, ZSBPPO Provincial Intelligence Branch, ZSBPPO Provincial Public Safety Company, 3rd RPSB9 Maneuver Company, 16th MICO, 12th MICO, 102nd Brigade, and Naga MPS, conducted a law enforcement operation that resulted in the neutralization of kidnap-for-ransom group leader Wanning Abdusalam, also known as Muhideen Abdusalam Uyong.

The operation happened at about 8:00 AM on March 13, 2016 in Sitio Singkilon, Barangay Baga, Naga, this province. Subject criminal was killed while law enforcers were serving the warrants of arrest for slight illegal detention with robbery docketed under CC No. I-3832, Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention defined and penalized under article 267 of RPC as amended by R.A. 7675 docketed under CC No. Iā€“3833 both issued by Executive Judge Reubin Lo Maraon 9th Judicial Region branch 24, Ipil, and Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention docketed under CC No. IM-13-0575 issued by Presiding Judge Josefino Bael, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 31, Imelda municipality. Abdusalam resisted arrest that ensued into a shootout with the government troops which lasted for two minutes where he was fatally wounded. The KFRG leader was brought to Ipil Provincial Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. Recovered from the suspect was a 1911A1 Norinco cal .45 pistol with serial number 1004529 with three magazines and thirty-three rounds of ammunition. Initial investigation regarding the confirmation and identity of the notorious criminal stated that the body was positively identified by his wife Junaida Sulaiman Uyong, 38, resident of Sitio Gangit, Brgy. Mamagon, and Khadapi Asgal, an active elected Brgy. Kagawad of same barangay.
