PNP Personnel to Undergo Mandatory Drug Test

Written by PSUPT ROGELIO C ALABATA, Chief RPIO9 on . Posted in News Release

Apart from the anti-illegal drug initiatives and policies of the PNP through the Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG), President-elect Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte, known for his hardline approach against criminality and illegal drugs, urges the conduct of mandatory drug testing among PNP personnel from the highest to lowest rank as soon as he assumes office on July 1, 2016.

The President-in-waiting has recently asserted his strong interest to implement a major revamp in the organization which includes weeding-out police personnel involved in illegal drugs.

The PNP supports the incoming president’s interest to weed-out rogues in uniform as well as to restore and uphold the integrity of the organization and public’s trust with the conduct of mandatory drug test to all personnel and intensified efforts to eradicate illegal drugs, as majority of heinous crimes in the country are drug-related.

Furthermore, Police Regional Office 9 will not tolerate any member of its organization who violates the law and gets involved in illegal drugs.

As a matter of policy, those found positive for illegal drug use and involvement in illegal syndicates shall be sanctioned accordingly and/or shall be subjected to dismissal from police service.

Notwithstanding the impeding revamp in the organization, PRO9 ensures unwavering and steadfast performance of its mandate and duties in serving and protecting the people as well as in maintaining the peace and security in Zamboanga Peninsula.

The PRO9 leadership headed by PCSUPT BILLY B BELTRAN enjoins the general public to provide the police with relevant and timely information regarding illegal activities and report it through social media (Facebook Page – Police Regional Office 9) or through the following hotlines: Dial 117 or text 2920 and iReport Mo Kay TSIP 0917-8475-757.
