Arrest of ASG Cohort Tagged in Ipil and Al-Barka Massacres

Joint elements from RID9, 54th Special Action Company-5th Special Action Battalion, Isabela City Police Station, RPSB9 and 304th AISG, Philippine Air Force conducted a law enforcement operation to serve an arrest warrant in Barangay Binuangan, Isabela City, Basilan province at about 9:00 AM on July 18, 2016.

This resulted in the arrest of Abu Sayyaf Group member Adduri Aslain Suari a.k.a. “Titing Alpha”. This was based on the information initiated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. The said suspect was arrested by virtue of warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention defined and penalized under Article 267 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines, as amended by Sec 8 of Republic Act No. 7659, docketed under Criminal Case Nos. 3432, 3551, 3552, 3566, 3567, 3569 and 3570 issued by Presiding Judge Leo Jay T Principe of Branch 1, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Isabela City, Basilan. The suspect is involved in Tairan Golden Harvest kidnapping incident in 2001, Ipil massacre in 1995, and Albarka massacre in 2007. The subject was positively identified by the witness and victim of the said kidnapping incident. Suspect is currently under police custody.
