Sub-Leader of Ali-Barahama KFRG Arrested

Combined personnel from Zamboanga Sibugay PPO, Regional Intelligence Unit 9,  ZSBY PPSC, Ipil Municipal Police Station, Anti-Kidnapping Group-MFU, PNP-IG Counter-Terrorism Division, RID-PRO9 and 44th IB of the Philippine Army conducted a law enforcement operation for the service of arrest warrant in Barangay Tenan, Ipil of this province at around 4:30 PM on August 20, 2016.

This resulted in the arrest of Hasim Calon a.k.a. “Gingging” / “Husien”, sub-Leader of the Ali-Barahama Alih Criminal Group, a notorious kidnap for ransom group operating in the said province. Subject person was arrested by virtue of warrant for kidnapping for ransom docketed under CC  No. I-5832 issued by Presiding Judge Anthony D. Isaw, RTC 9 Branch 24 in Ipil. Accordingly, Hasim Calon is involved in several kidnapping and abduction incidents in the province, notably the abduction of Joel Indino in Ipil on January 29, 2011, and Richard Warren Rodwel, an Australian national kidnapped in December 2011. A search conducted on the subject resulted in the discovery of six sachets of shabu and several drug paraphernalia found inside a handbag that was in his possession at the time the subject was arrested. Additionally, said arrested person is a notorious illegal drug dealer listed in the watchlist on illegal drug personalities in Ipil.  The arrested person and confiscated items are now under police custody.
