PRO9 on Full Alert Status after Sulu Bombing

CAMP COL. ABENDAN, Zamboanga City – The Police Regional Office 9 has placed the entire Zamboanga Peninsula region under “full alert status” following the bombing incident at the Military Camp in Indanan, Sulu perpetrated by Sulu based Abu Sayyaf Group last June 28, 2019 where Five individuals including three soldiers were reportedly killed and nine other people wounded.

Police Brigadier General Froilan F Quidilla, PRO9 Director said the full alert status was fully implemented across the region last June 29, 2019 @ 7:00 PM in compliances with the PNP National Headquarters.

The Regional Director ordered all Provincial Directors and City Directors to intensify target hardening efforts through strict implementation of Enhanced Managing Police Operations, strengthen intelligence information gathering and exercise personal as well as information security in their respective area of responsibilities.

He also directed police units across the region to stepped-up check/chokepoint operations in all strategic areas; ensure police presence in all places of convergence; maximum deployment of PNP security personnel in potential terrorist-targets in coordination with AFP counterparts and other law enforcement agencies; strengthen security measures of all camps/detachments and establishment of communication linkages with the community
