Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City - In line with the “PNP Bayanihan Fund Challenge” otherwise known as “SAP” or Sariling Alay ng Pulis Para Sa Mahirap Project, the PNP’s response to President Duterte’s call for the entire Filipino nation to raise funds to support the campaign of the government and help those who are greatly affected by the COVID-19 crisis especially those belonging to the poorest of the poor families.
The Police Regional Office 9 as part of its contribution has raised a total of P7,823,756.00 for the “PNP Bayanihan Fund Challenge”, a fund-raising project launched by the PNP hierarchy to help fund the government’s fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
PBGEN FROILAN F QUIDILLA, PRO9 Regional Director said that the total amount raised came from the voluntary contributions of the 8,039 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel of PRO9. The collected funds will then be remitted to the PNP Director for Comptrollership, the office primarily in charge for the said purpose, and will be eventually turned over to the national government, he added.
The following is the breakdown of the contributions per police headquarters/offices: Zamboanga City Police Office – P1,398,000; Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office –P1,456,000; Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office – 1,445,100; Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office – P965,000; Isabela City Police Station – P150,000; Regional Mobile Force Battalion 9 – P663,000 and Regional Headquarters – P1,746,656.
PBGEN QUIDILLA, further commended the 442 Police Commissioned Officers, 7,193 Police Non-Commissioned Officers and 404 Non-Uniformed Personnel, who, regardless of their ranks and positions, have answered the call of the PNP to gather P200 million that aims to support the government’s response and efforts against the dreaded disease.
