Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City - A policeman and a non-uniformed personnel assigned with Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office (ZNPPO) who recently passed the 2019 Bar examination were each given a cash incentive for their amazing achievement. PBGEN FROILAN F QUIDILLA, Regional Director, PRO9 stated that the said incentive extended by the Police Regional Office 9 to the two Bar passers is to acknowledge their oustanding performance for passing the said examination. This brings pride and honor to the PNP organization and also serve as an inspiration to all personnel to strive hard in order to reach their goals in life. He also said that he is proud like a father for what his children have accomplished.
PCOL RONALD T BRIONES, Provincial Director, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office (ZNPPO) handed over the cash in the amount of Php 10,000 to Police Staff Sergeant Henrik T Ageas and NUP Melquiades B Potoy III during the formal ceremony held at ZNPPO headquarters in Camp Hamac, Sicayab, Dipolog City on May 13, 2020.
Police Staff Sergeant Ageas is a 33-year-old member of Sibutad Municipal Police Station who has been in the police service for 10 years while NUP Potoy III is a Crime Registrar from Mutia Municipal Police Station since 2015. Both earned their law degree from Jose Rizal Memorial State University in Dipolog City, the premier university in Zamboanga del Norte.
The two Bar passers worked their way to become lawyers through hard work and perseverance as they devoted their time and integrated their field of works as a PNP personnel and their law studies. For the duration of their law studies, the two personnel would perform their respective mandated daily tasks as members of the organization from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM on weekdays and would go to the said university to attend their daily class from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
The two Bar exam passers may become Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) with the rank of Police Captain should they opt to apply in the Lateral Entry Program for Technical Service positions in the PNP. They would be eventually absorb by the PNP Legal Service, whose task is to provide legal assistance to PNP members facing appropriate charges arising from any incident related to the performance of his official duty.
