PRO9 Conducts 8-Bullet Test to Its Uniformed Personnel

Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City - The Police Regional Office 9 is set to conduct three-day 8-bullet proficiency test to all its PNP uniformed personnel at Execom Firing Range, Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Mercedes Zamboanga City and at the different Firing Range in Provincial Police Offices from June 16-18, 2020.

PBGEN Jesus D Cambay Jr, PRO9 Regional Director, said the 8-bullet test aimed to standardize, develop and increase the level of confidence and proficiency of each PNP personnel in using their issued short firearms. This will also instill the proper handling and familiarization of short firearms on the safety procedures during the actual/live firing.

The Regional director stressed out that the 8-bullet test consists of four stages- the five, seven, 10, and 15-meter distance targets, respectively. In order to pass the two initial stages, the participants must be able to fire the gun and hit the A4 size paper target within three seconds. Meanwhile, on the last two stages, the participant must hit the same target in 10 and 15-meter distance within five seconds.

Currently, PRO9 has 8,000 personnel in line for the proficiency test wherein some PNP personnel have already completed the 1st proficiency test last February and March of last year. Meanwhile, to facilitate the 2nd proficiency test of all PNP personnel all over the region, PRO9 has created 8-bullet test mobile training at the respective provincial police offices and city polices.

The conduct of 8-bullet test is in line with the focus directives of Police General Archie Francisco F Gamboa, Chief of Philippine National Police. (PRO9 PIO)
