Police Regional Office 9 sends Relief Goods to Aid Victims of Typhoon “Odette”

On December 16, 2021, at 1:30 PM, Typhoon Odette made its first landfall in Siargao Island, Surigao Del Norte. Floods occured as intermittent rains dampen the affected areas.

With the guidance of the PNP Chief, PGEN DIOANARDO B CARLOS, Police Regional Office 9 under the leadership of PBGEN FRANCO P SIMBORIO, coordinated with PRO10 for relief operations upon recommendation, said relief operations was redirected to PRO13.

 

On December 19, 2021,  PRO9 activated “PRO9 AYUDAHAN, Alay sa mga Nasalanta ng Bagyong Odette.” PRO9 personnel immediately responded by  preparing food packs and other relief goods amounting to more or less P300,000.00. The relief goods composed of 165 sacks or rice, 512 pieces of noodles, 1,637 pieces of assorted canned goods, 2,100 packs of coffee, 456 packs of biscuits, 687 bottles of drinking water, 106 bottles of medicine, 216 hygiene and health kits, 50 pairs of slippers, 17 pieces of mosquito nets.

28 PRO9 personnel who are members of the Relief Operations Team (ROT) on board Marked Vehicles of 6x6 Man Truck and 2 Toyota Hilux were sent to Police Regional Office 13 in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte on the same day. The ROT arrived at PRO13 on December 20, 2021 wherein they turned-over the donations to PBGEN ROMEO M CARAMAT JR, Regional Director, PRO13. (PRO9-PIO)
