A total of 1,800 personnel attended the activity who are expected to uplift and boost the morale members of the organization through this program. Camp Col Romeo A Abendan, Zamboanga City – Members of Abu Sayyaf Group apprehended at Mangal Drive, Baliwasan Grande, Zamboanga City at 3:00 AM of September 26, 2019 in a search warrant implemented for violation of RA 9516. During the search Improvise Explosive Device (IED) materials were confiscated from Aljiver Habibula (arrested) 35 years old, male, Omar Julaspih (arrested) 22 years old, male, Rody Marail (arrested) 36 years old, male, and Nash Amik (arrested) 32 years old, male, all temporarily residing at Manggal Drive, Baliwasan Grande, Zamboanga City and natives of Sulu.
Camp Col Romeo Abendan, Zamboanga City – Twenty-five female police officers from Police Regional Office 9 and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao participated in the 3-day Community Relations Team Course sponsored by the U. S Department of State - Bureau of Counter-Terrorism. This is in support to the initiative of PBGen Froilan F Quidilla, PRO9 Regional Director, of creating Hijab Troopers launched in June 2019 who are deployed in Zamboanga Peninsula as a symbol of diversity and unity in the area.
The event was spearheaded by PMGen Elmo Francis G Sarona, The Director for Investigation and Detective Management. Investigators and their Chiefs all over the peninsula and other regions attended the validation which aims to check and disseminate the guidelines set forth by DIDM for a more systematic and comprehensive approach in investigation as it plays a vital role in the police work.
